Due to the quantity of material that must be reviewed during this class, classes begin and end PROMPTLY. Plan to arrive 10 minutes PRIOR to the start of class. Latecomers will not be admitted and will be asked to re-schedule, UCSF will not pay for rescheduling. Class also ends promptly. If you do not feel you can complete the skills and test within 2 hours you should not take this course. Those who take more than the scheduled 2 hours will be marked as failed and have to retake the course, reschedule fees apply.

UCSF BLS-R is a 2-hour challenge CPR course for Healthcare Providers. This course is designed to review and evaluate the HCP CPR skills to aid victims of all ages, foreign body airway obstructions, AED use, and airway ventilation via barrier devices. This Healthcare Provider course includes CPR for Adult, Children, and Infants and includes AED. This course is geared toward clinically proficient heatlhcare providers.

The California Board of Nurses (BRN) will not accept CPR and BLS courses for CE credit. Click here for more information from the California Board of Nursing Continuing Education for License Renewal website.

Course Requirements:
In order to take this course you must have all of the following in class with you:

1. A CURRENT American Heart Association (AHA) HEALTHCARE PROVIDER CARD or an American Red Cross PROFESSIONAL RESCUER card. You may be asked to show your card during the course. No other provider cards will be accepted. CURRENT means you are taking the class on or before the "Recommended Date of Renewal". The AHA honors the card for the entire month in which it expires. There is no grace period.
2. A current AHA Healthcare Provider textbook (this link is for the online discount book center, not the SFPA) copyright 2006

Waitlist means the course is full, and no seats are available. If seats become vacant, the registration staff will call those who are on the waitlist. Due to the nature of this course walk-ins are not available. The instructor will turn you away if you are not pre-registered for this course.

Cancellation Policy if you cancel or do not attend the session you registered, you forfeit the entire course fee. We do not give any refunds.

Rescheduling Policy you may reschedule only once. With more than 7 days notice the rescheduling fee is $10. With 7 or less days notice the rescheduling fee is one-half the course fee. Failure to appear in class or day of class notice - will result in forfeiture of your entire course fee. There are no refunds.
