Description: OB Emergencies - Saving Lives of Women & Children in Remote Areas of the World

Dr. Lager will focus on clinical issues pertaining to OB complications in the field and interventions to decrease both infant and maternal mortality. Arlene Samen, RN will discuss her experiences in Tibet and what motivated her to establish One Heart, and its far reaching programs which address high maternal and infant morbidity and mortality rates.

Objectives:
Familiarize your self with the three most common causes of maternal mortality
Understand main cause of newborn death
Understand the three interventions to decrease maternal mortality in rural settings

Arlene Samen, RN, CNN Hero, Founder and Executive Director of One HEART which focuses on Health, Education and Research in Tibet. Samen is dedicated to ensuring that all pregnant women and infants in Tibet have access to the lifesaving care and information they need.
